Biography

Kevin’s musical journey began at an early age, first exploring music on the piano and singing in choir before discovering the drums at age nine. By his early teens, he was forming rock bands in the garage and performing with original music acts, spending much of his teenage years and early twenties pursuing the dream of becoming a professional musician and earning a record deal. During high school, he expanded his percussion background through drumline, developing the discipline, timing, and ensemble skills that would become an important part of his playing. His early pursuit of music also gave him valuable session experience, including opportunities to record alongside renowned musicians at a legendary Los Angeles recording studio.

In his twenties, Kevin continued developing his musicianship through college music studies, additional piano and drum instruction, and years of self-directed study, networking, and musical experiences throughout the Los Angeles music community alongside accomplished professional musicians and drummers. As his career evolved, he became increasingly active as a working drummer, performing with cover bands and tribute acts at venues and large festivals throughout Southern California. He also continues to record remotely from his home studio and collaborate with other musicians on a variety of projects. Drawing from a lifetime of experiences ranging from choir and drumline to original music, studio recording, and professional live performance, Kevin brings a well-rounded and practical perspective to every student he teaches.
