Trumpet

The trumpet is a fun instrument to learn and can be used to perform many different types of music including classical, rock and Jazz. A good age for kids to start playing the trumpet is at around 6-10 years of age. Trumpet does require that students have a full set of front teeth. Due to this, we do not recommend starting trumpet lessons before your kids have their permanent/adult front teeth. We offer trumpet lessons for all ages and levels. Our teachers are well qualified to teach from beginners up to advanced level. Teachers will also work with students who wish to join the school or local orchestra to prepare for auditions.

Students develop a joy of playing and a high level of comprehensive technique and artistry on the instrument. You will have the support to meet your musical goals with a clear course of study.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the right age to begin music lessons?

What’s the right instrument for my child?

A good age for kids to start playing the trumpet is at around 6-10 years of age. It's a good idea to start trumpet lessons when the child is able to focus at least for at least 30 minutes in a classroom environment and is willing to learn.

Trumpet does require that students have a full set of front teeth. Due to this, we do not recommend starting trumpet lessons before your kids have their permanent/adult front teeth.

That question is often asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals.

We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach.

A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty-seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child.

The main reason to choose our school as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.

If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first lesson your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.

We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical.

Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as California State University of Long Beach, Brigham Young University (Idaho), BAKIP Linz (Austria), and many others. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the US and Europe and have over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level.

Performance opportunities

Recitals boost confidence! Taking part in a recital helps performers to overcome shyness, fear, anxiety and stage fright. It gives students a chance to showcase all of their hard work, dedication, and progress throughout the year. As children experience getting on stage, performing for an audience, and being applauded for their efforts, they gain self-confidence that will carry with them in all aspects of school and life.

We offer a variety of opportunities for our students to perform in a confidence-boosting and supportive setting. We have many recitals every year, our two Annual Recital in the Summer and a Winter Recital at the end of the year to showcase our students' progress. Students will also receive a trophy at the annual recital.

In addition to annual recitals held at an outside venue, we regularly host mini-recitals at Recital Hall of the school. This will give our students many more performance opportunities throughout the year. We always make sure that students get to perform on a grand piano. For our students these recitals are free.

Please check this page for performance videos.

Refer a Friend and Get Rewards!

We love referrals! Because we have such happy customers, we get a lot of new students through referrals. Getting your child’s friends involved with the program lets them share in similar interests and makes it all that more fun. Or maybe you have friends with children that love music and may want to start learning an instrument? Either way, each time someone you refer signs up, both you and them will enjoy one free class! There is no limit to how many you can refer - the more the merrier!

We believe music lessons should be inspiring, social, supportive, and above all: FUN! Engaging music lessons in Huntington Beach
