Instrument Rentals

HB School of Music is a proud affiliate of K&S Music, Inc, Berkeley Heights, NJ.

We offer monthly rentals with an option to purchase on most instruments. With just a three-month minimum and rentals starting from just $20 per month, we make it easy to begin your musical journey.

We only offer instrument rentals (strings, brass, woodwinds, guitars, keyboards, drums, or bell kits) to students enrolling at Huntington Beach School of Music.

Rental Terms

Instruments are covered for normal wear & tear. Instruments will be replaced in case of theft or fire for a one time fee. The cost of this insurance is included in the monthly payment listed above.

All prices include a monthly service charge as follows:
Group A: $6.00; Group B: $8.00; Group C: $9.00

No refunds for early returns. After initial rental you have the following options:

  • 1) continue to re-rent the instrument on a continuous monthly basis accumulating money toward the rent-to-own price
  • 2) purchase the instrument in one payment at any time and receive a discount
  • 3) return the instrument at any time

Credit or Debit Card Required for Rental (even if paying by check).


Exchange instrument

You may exchange your rental instrument for a different type (ex. exchange trumpet for clarinet) at any time during the rental period for an exchange fee of $25. As your child grows, there is no exchange fee charged for Violin & Viola size upgrades.


Purchase instrument

A portion of each rental payment goes toward the purchase of the instrument. (Rental Fee minus Monthly Service Charge & taxes if applicable = Rental Equity toward instrument).

We also give a 50% discount off the remaining balance to purchase the instrument during the 1st year of rental. The second year will offer a 25% discount.
