Biography

Robin Huang is a fourth year student at Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, majoring in Piano Performance. Robin started playing piano at 8 years old, but decided to switch to violin at 12 years old. Robin was raised in Taiwan and lived in Taiwan for 14 years. In 2018, Robin moved to America to pursue education and also studied music with teacher Pin Chen. In 2022, he decided to play piano again because of the inspiration of Chopin competition. He quickly self- learned a lot of piano music. In 2023, Robin attended one of the world class Brevard music centers in North Carolina. He studied with Dr. Douglass Weeks, and plays with Norman Krieger, Jeremy Denk and some world-known pianists. Robin played three masterclasses with Dr. Angela Kim, Dr. Sharon Mann and Robert Thies and successfully finished his junior recital past semester. In July 2025, Robin played Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue with Long Beach Summer Orchestra under conductor Christopher Sterling. Robin has also been exploring orchestral music, arranging, improvising, pop and jazz music on the other side.
